And mirrors my thoughts about Russell Brand’s ‘trial by media’.
Not that I’m getting involved in the ‘did he/didn’t he’ argument. Maybe he did. Maybe he didn’t. Neither am I taking the accusations against him flippantly. (I’m a survivor myself). But I do know the extreme effort it takes to conquer addictions and turn your life around – and feel that whether he’s guilty or innocent, we should acknowledge that he’s a different person now.
And… I thought it might be fun to see what’s going on in Russell Brand’s birth chart.
*Especially as Channel 4 aired the Dispatches/Sunday Times investigative documentary about him on the 16th of September 2023 – when Mercury had just stationed Direct, so was still in the Mercury Retrograde shadow.

What leaps out of Russell Brand’s birth chart is the Grand Cross. (“Crosses to bear”). With the four points of the cross connecting:
(1) The rebellious, freedom-seeking planet Uranus at the top (the most public part) of his chart.
(2) The Ascendant in ambitious Capricorn.
(3) The planet of the ‘wounded healer’, Chiron, in outspoken Aries and…
(4) the divine-feminine, pleasure-seeking planet Venus in the sensitive sign of Cancer, bang on his Descendant.
His Sun and Mercury are in quick-thinking, silver-tongued Gemini and the instinctual, often unconscious Moon along with the sexual planet Mars (forming part of a stellium of four planets in impulsive Aries) are both in opposition to his natal Pluto – the planet of upheaval – in charming and flirtatious Libra.
But most relevant at the time of writing is that transiting Pluto (the extremely slow-moving planet of death and re-birth and as I say on my astrology page: the planet of “transformation through destroying and re-structuring… The processes of complete and irreversible change”) is retrograding at 27 degrees of Capricorn and therefore touching (conjunct) Russell’s ascendant at 26 degrees of Capricorn.
Trust me this is a big deal. And often a time of extreme crisis in one’s life. A time when long-suppressed inner energies are likely to surface, or (to quote Robert Hand) when “you may feel you are being victimised by some outside force, even when the force is within you.” Eek!
